How to make 

Macaroni
Butter
Plain flour
Milk
Cheddar
Parmesen

For 8 to 10 minutes, cook the macaroni in a big pot of salted boiling water. Drain thoroughly, then reserve.

In a pan that is just a little bit bigger than the one you used for the macaroni, melt the butter over medium heat. After adding the flour and stirring, simmer the roux for a short while.


Add the milk a bit at a time, whisking constantly. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes or until sauce is smooth and thick.

In the interim, heat the grill.

175g/6 ounces of the cheese are added to the sauce once it has been taken off the heat and is thoroughly mixed and melted.

Mix thoroughly after adding the macaroni to the sauce. Transfer to a large, deep oven-safe dish.
